The extreme lives of sloths
You finally get to learn about sloths and what makes them so weird. Better yet, you get to do it with your students!
Some animals are cute and fuzzy. Some are mean and poisonous. Some are slimy and slippery. Then there’s the sloth. A horrifically confusing creature that we all forget about until we see it again. It begs so many questions. Scratch your itch and find out what makes a sloth a sloth and how they are actually bizarrely interesting creatures.
- Start with a warm-up question, for example: What do you know about sloths?
- Watch the video once. Compare the list of sloth knowledge with the information in the video.
- Check out the vocabulary on the PDF.
- Watch the video again with subtitles.
- Put students in pairs to complete the questions on the left.
- Form new pairs and complete the speaking activity on the right.
- If you have time, put students in groups of 3-4 and complete the group activity on the second page.
