20 quotes from people with all sorts of hobbies and pastimes. Students must match a hobby to each quotation. Great starting off point for discussions!
Instructions
- Use this as an individual worksheet, class activity, or in pairs or small groups.
- There are 20 quotations from individuals talking about their favorite hobby or pastime (it’s the same thing, in case your students ask and you never googled it).
- Their goal is to match one of the hobbies at the bottom with each quotation.
- Share the corrections with the class at the end to see who got the most correct.
- Use this as a jumping off point for paired conversations giving prompts such as “Choose 3 hobbies you’d like to try.” or “Do you have any of these hobbies?” or “Which hobby would you definitely never get into?” etc.
