Get Your A2’s to Speak

This resource contains 5 unique vocabulary exercises each tackling a different theme. These activities are designed in the form of conversational mind maps. They are meant to get your students talking! Each contains a vocabulary list by theme for your students to discover or review.
These vocabulary exercises were designed for A2-B1 students but can also be useful to introduce a topic for more advanced levels.
While designed for beginner to intermediate students, they can also be used for more advanced students as a warm-up or introduction to a discussion course.

Each vocabulary exercise and conversation starter is paired with a word list for both discovery and review.

The themes in this pack are:

  1. Your ideal job;
  2. Family gatherings;
  3. Vacations and tourism;
  4. Living in a capital city;
  5. Health and wellness.

  • This is a lifelong tool which means you download it once and use it forever.
  • Be sure to consecrate at least 20 minutes of class time for each mind map.
  • Can be used for up to 60 minutes of class time (or more!).

These vocabulary exercises have been updated with two new versions, which means you’ll get 3 ways to use this resource.
  1. Printable PDF with a word list to cut out for each vocabulary exercise;
  2. OLINE_VERSION for easy screen sharing on ZOOM or virtual whiteboard;
  3. INTERACTIVE_PDFs also for screen sharing, homework, or individual work for your students!

I have been teaching English abroad since receiving my CELTA certificate in Poland in 2018. I enjoy tracking my individual students’ development but love having lessons with big groups! Now that I teach online, I am accompanied by my sidekicks Olaf, Mała, Pirate and Bandit on a regular basis.

It takes a team of 13 to create and produce this material. In order for that to continue, please think about purchasing your own subscription to ESL Expertz and encourage your colleagues to do the same. We appreciate your confidence and support!
