Second Conditional Board Game

Use this second conditional board game to practice this grammar point in a fun and online-friendly way.

Students can play this second conditional board game in small groups or as a class. The goal of the game is to get from one side to the other while scoring the most amount of points. To score points, students must finish the second conditional statement in the bubble using one of the verbs located at the bottom of the page. Cross out the verbs as you go along – they cannot be used twice. Students follow the lines from bubble to bubble and two or more markers can be on the same bubble at the same time.

For more online-friendly gameplay, use the whiteboard tools to create game pieces (I usually use the transparent oval shape). Each team or player will be a different colored bubble and you can use the same color of highlighter or pen as the team to cross out, and thus score, the verbs as you go along

I have been teaching English abroad since receiving my CELTA certificate in Poland in 2018. I enjoy tracking my individual students’ development but love having lessons with big groups! Now that I teach online, I am accompanied by my sidekicks Olaf, Mała, Pirate and Bandit on a regular basis.

It takes a team of 13 to create and produce this material. In order for that to continue, please think about purchasing your own subscription to ESL Expertz and encourage your colleagues to do the same. We appreciate your confidence and support!
