Online Friendly ESL Discussion: Million Dollar Hot Wheels Collection
Today you and your students will talk about Bruce’s Hot Wheels collection worth $1 million. Perfect for intermediate students and more advanced groups.
Use this ESL Discussion Worksheet however you’d like, but here’s what we recommend:
- Warm-up examples:
- The class before, ask your students to bring something they collect to present to the class.
- Ask your students what their favorite toy was growing up.
- Make a list of collectible items with your class.
- Watch the video once: Ask your students, “What is your impression of Bruce?” The link to the video is also on the PDF.
- Vocabulary: Check out the vocabulary on the PDF and answer any questions.
- Watch the video again: Answer the questions on the PDF in pairs.
- Speaking Activity: Put students in pairs to complete the speaking activity – directions on the PDF.
- If you’ve still got time left over, put your students in small groups and discuss the group activity.
