Feelings on Instagram

Students use this interactive PDF to create Instagram accounts and comment on others’ while evoking feelings and emotions vocabulary.

Instructions

  1. There are 8 separate PDF files for this activity. If you are online, send a different PDF to each student, pair or small group. If you are in the classroom, print out a separate PDF for each group.
  2. Give students time to create their Instagram account by writing a caption for each of the 5 photos along with a hashtag to describe what emotion they are feeling.
  3. Once the Instagram accounts have been created, have students pass around their Instagram accounts to let the other students add comments on their posts. If online, make sure they save their changes on the PDF, then send it to the group in the chat.
  4. You can pass around these Instagram accounts for as many times as you’d like. At the end, present the Instagram accounts to the class.

Check out another Instagram activity where students practice prepositions of place while scrolling through their feeds.

I have been teaching English abroad since receiving my CELTA certificate in Poland in 2018. I enjoy tracking my individual students’ development but love having lessons with big groups! Now that I teach online, I am accompanied by my sidekicks Olaf, Mała, Pirate and Bandit on a regular basis.

It takes a team of 13 to create and produce this material. In order for that to continue, please think about purchasing your own subscription to ESL Expertz and encourage your colleagues to do the same. We appreciate your confidence and support!
