Newzy – Emojis: A Criminal’s Best Friend.

Do you know what a broccoli or rose emoji might mean to a criminal? Explore the creative and dark world of illustrated criminal communication with your A2 (or B1) students today.

If you were introduced to ESL Expertz by Les Zexperts FLE you might be familiar with their Zactus lesson plans. They are printable and complete lesson plans based on current events. They always use authentic materials and generally have comprehension, vocabulary and production portions.

Because we think they look really nice and that Barbara Delvern does such a great job on them, we’ve decided to adapt some of them for your ESL lessons! We hope you find them easy to use, fun and effective for your students.

Here is what the Newzy looks like:

I have been teaching English abroad since receiving my CELTA certificate in Poland in 2018. I enjoy tracking my individual students’ development but love having lessons with big groups! Now that I teach online, I am accompanied by my sidekicks Olaf, Mała, Pirate and Bandit on a regular basis.
