Board Game for Feelings and Emotions Vocabulary
This printable and online-friendly board game helps learners explore and express a wide range of feelings and emotions through storytelling, imagination, and conversation. Perfect for both in-person and virtual classrooms, it works well on paper, a whiteboard, or a shared screen.
How It Works:
The game board is filled with bubbles, each containing an emotion or feeling (e.g., excited, nervous, proud, embarrassed, disappointed).
Students play individually or in teams or small groups and take turns moving between connected bubbles.
For each emotion, the student must share a story or idea that fits. They can:
-
Talk about a real experience when they felt that way
-
Imagine a situation that would make them feel that way
-
Invent a past event where that emotion might come up
If their story makes sense and uses the feeling correctly, they earn a point. The first team to reach 10 points wins!
Why It Works:
This activity is designed to build emotional vocabulary, boost fluency, and encourage students to express themselves in English with confidence and creativity. It’s also a great way to build empathy, connection, and classroom community.
