A0 Activity: Spelling Practice for Beginners

An easy spelling practice for beginners activity that you can use online or offline. Students will also discover some vocabulary at the same time!

This activity is designed to practice spelling in English for beginners. There are several words with small illustrations on the worksheet for vocabulary discovery.

Learners play in pairs. One of them receives the worksheet. Without showing it, they spell as many words of their choice as possible for 2 minutes, while the other learner in the pair records the words in the chat or on paper. Correct as a whole class by asking the learners who noted the words (for example: “Who has the word CLOUD? Can you spell it?”). The pairs earn one point for each correctly spelled and noted word. The pair with the most points wins.
