Question Game: In, On, At
Looking for a fun and interactive way to practice in, on, at questions with your students? This printable and online-friendly activity helps learners discover, practice, and master the prepositions of time in, on, and at while improving their question-making skills.
Are your students discovering, practicing or mastering in, on, at questions? Well, you’ve stumbled on the right place. This simple to use, printable and online-friendly activity is the perfect way to marry A1 prepositions of time in, on and at with question-making abilities.
The way it works is really simple, but your students will find it challenging and fun. They will even learn quite a bit! Shocker.
Choose one of the topics at random, such as “School.” There are three options displayed below, 1.) In the 1990s, 2) On Friday, 3) At 7 o’clock. Students will use these as prompts for their questions. However, what makes it interesting is that they need to make up questions that have each option as a response. This helps to reinforce the asking of in, on, at questions.
For example:
When did you go to college?
In the 1990s.
Give your students some time to come up with their three questions. At the end, have them all present their questions, giving one point for each grammatically correct question and a bonus if, at the end of the presentations, they are original. This pushes students to come up with more interesting questions than the one in the example!
If you come up with other ways to use this activity to practice in, on, at questions, leave your instructions in the comments!
