What do you think? Numbers for Beginners.

Discover, practice and review numbers up to 20 while introducing “has/have got” and “I think that’s…” with your A0 beginner learners online or offline as a printable.

This a0 numbers speaking activity is designed to discover or review numbers from 1 to 20 and a structure for expressing one’s opinion (“I think that’s…”). It also introduces the idea of “has got” instead of simply “has”. There are sentences presenting different situations on the worksheet. Distribute the worksheet to all learners. Explain to them the meaning of the phrases “That’s crazy!”, “That’s normal!” and “That’s great!”  by using gestures or giving examples. Then, learners take turns reading the sentences aloud. Correct their pronunciation and have them repeat if necessary. Once each sentence is read, the rest of the class expresses their opinion by saying if it’s crazy, normal, or great. You can ask the question “Why?” but don’t insist on getting a structured response.

I have been teaching English abroad since receiving my CELTA certificate in Poland in 2018. I enjoy tracking my individual students’ development but love having lessons with big groups! Now that I teach online, I am accompanied by my sidekicks Olaf, Mała, Pirate and Bandit on a regular basis.

It takes a team of 13 to create and produce this material. In order for that to continue, please think about purchasing your own subscription to ESL Expertz and encourage your colleagues to do the same. We appreciate your confidence and support!
