We’ve been in the lab cooking up some easy-to-use, beautiful and effective mini activities for your online and offline lessons that require zero prep on your part and allow your students to use the target language in novel and interesting contexts to better retain their knowledge of a particular grammar point, theme or functional language. We’re calling them Jukeboxes.
We first started with the Present Perfect Jukebox as I had a few students working on that at the time! Now we’ve got some vocabulary Jukeboxes nearly ready to go but we need to know which one to release first! Today we’ve got a sneak peek of the Jobs and Work Jukebox. This is only 1 out of 10 activities that will be included in the final Jukebox.
Let us know what you think and check out a sneak peek of the Shops and Shopping Jukebox here.
How to use this it:
Students can play individually, in pairs, or in groups. The goal of the game is to get from one side to the other while scoring the most amount of points. To score points, students must respond to the type of job presented in the bubble with an explanatory phrase using one of the professions located at the bottom of the page. Cross out the professions as you go along – they cannot be used twice. Students follow the lines from bubble to bubble and two or more markers can be on the same bubble at the same time.
This resource is based on an activity found in 1, 2, 3… Cause, Consequence and Purpose!
