I knew someone once who opened up a coffee shop on a shoe string budget in a pretty bad neighborhood back home. I know she struggled for a while, but she became a big part of the community and opened the door for other development and small businesses in the area. I watched her business grow from a dilapidated storefront to a full-blown hipster coffee joint. It was fun to watch and I still wish her all the best! I sometimes thought about how much it might have cost her to put it all together, and now I have a bit of a better idea after putting this discussion worksheet together!

Talk about what it takes to open up a coffee shop with your students and some of the struggles of small business in general with this discussion worksheet.

I have been teaching English abroad since receiving my CELTA certificate in Poland in 2018. I enjoy tracking my individual students’ development but love having lessons with big groups! Now that I teach online, I am accompanied by my sidekicks Olaf, Mała, Pirate and Bandit on a regular basis.

It takes a team of 13 to create and produce this material. In order for that to continue, please think about purchasing your own subscription to ESL Expertz and encourage your colleagues to do the same. We appreciate your confidence and support!
