The Pronoun Game

Discover, practice and produce pronouns as direct and indirect objects and get your students to learn these valuable ESL objectives in a fun and effective manner.

Use this Pronoun grammar game to discover, practice and produce direct and indirect object pronouns along with other skills such as verb structures, phrasal verbs and proper use and placement of prepositions with objects, in your ESL class. Also, this game is designed as a discovery tool for A1+ / A2 students and a review for A2+ students.

Description

The Pronoun game can be played individually or in small groups and is played in turns. The game cards determine the objective of each turn. Depending on the color of the card, students will face different challenges related to pronouns and objects. They will use their imagination to give not only correct answers, but funny and surprising ones, too!

The green cards are riddles that have students generate logical antecedents for an underlined pronoun. The purple cards evoke your students’ inner Shakespeare with mini dialogues. The red cards test your students new-found direct and indirect pronoun skills while the blue ones let them create their own riddles.

I have been teaching English abroad since receiving my CELTA certificate in Poland in 2018. I enjoy tracking my individual students’ development but love having lessons with big groups! Now that I teach online, I am accompanied by my sidekicks Olaf, Mała, Pirate and Bandit on a regular basis.

It takes a team of 13 to create and produce this material. In order for that to continue, please think about purchasing your own subscription to ESL Expertz and encourage your colleagues to do the same. We appreciate your confidence and support!
