This Me neither! game was built for practice and review of basic adverbs of frequency. The activity contains a number of basic phrases that each employ an adverb of frequency, or expression. Students can play in pairs trying to guess whether their partner is lying or telling the truth. They can get to know each other along the way!

The first person begins by choosing a phrase and reading it aloud. They follow up the phrase with the question in the middle, “What about you?” This refers to the phrase they just uttered. The second player must answer with either a “Me too!”, “Me neither!” or something else as a response. The first player decides if they are lying or telling the truth and earns a point if they are correct. To prolong the practice, have students correct the information if need be, thus forcing them to use the target language again.

I have been teaching English abroad since receiving my CELTA certificate in Poland in 2018. I enjoy tracking my individual students’ development but love having lessons with big groups! Now that I teach online, I am accompanied by my sidekicks Olaf, Mała, Pirate and Bandit on a regular basis.

It takes a team of 13 to create and produce this material. In order for that to continue, please think about purchasing your own subscription to ESL Expertz and encourage your colleagues to do the same. We appreciate your confidence and support!
