Dialogue Building Blocks: Making Appointments

Use this making appointments dialogue activity with your A2 (pre-intermediate) students to practice and organize various structures related to this important functional language.

This would’ve been a very helpful activity for me in Polish while I was living in Warsaw. Booking appointments, especially over the phone, is an important skill for anyone. We hope this making appointments dialogue activity will be helpful for your students, and something you will be proud to share with them. It follows the same premise as the other Dialogue Building Block activities where in several snippets of similar dialogues have been broken up, allowing students to create their own dialogues together, thus repeating specific structures for this useful functional language.

Once your students work through the guided portion on the first page of this making appointments dialogue activity, they will then take turns as receptionist and client, practicing the structures and vocabulary they learned on the front page. Even better, the front page can be used as a place to organize these structures and keep them for later use.

Be proud of your teaching materials!

I have been teaching English abroad since receiving my CELTA certificate in Poland in 2018. I enjoy tracking my individual students’ development but love having lessons with big groups! Now that I teach online, I am accompanied by my sidekicks Olaf, Mała, Pirate and Bandit on a regular basis.

It takes a team of 13 to create and produce this material. In order for that to continue, please think about purchasing your own subscription to ESL Expertz and encourage your colleagues to do the same. We appreciate your confidence and support!
