It focuses on the three most basic ways to use past perfect: by the time, before, and I couldn’t… because…

Before getting too fancy with it, make sure your students have mastered the basics first! Go around in a loop, calling on a different student each time to continue the chain of phrases. Once you’ve made a full loop, go around again without repeating any phrases!

Add a cognitive skills element to this Past Perfect B1 Dominos game by making students repeat the previous phrases from other students before coming up with their own!
