Food and Quantifiers Activity: My Fridge!

This food and quantifiers activity was designed for A2 students but also works well for a fun review or companion to a larger food and drink themed lesson plan at higher levels. It looks great and won’t embarrass your adult students like some other fridge-based printables you have stumbled upon online.

Show me your fridge, and I shall tell you who you are!

Follow the steps below to complete this food and quantifiers activity.

  • Students draw the contents of their full fridge just after doing the shopping.
  • Collect the sheets and then redistribute the fridges at random.
  • Students guess whose fridge they now have and justify their response.
  • Students analyze the contents of the fridge in front of them by using some of the adverbs of quantity listed on the sheet. There is too much soda in this fridge and not enough vegetables…
  • They prepare three suggestions for the owner of the fridge to improve their diet.
  • Finally, let them present their advice to the class.

I am a FLE professor in Warsaw. I have always loved board games and it shows in my classroom! My M.O. is to get students to talk as much as possible, even at the beginning, about anything and everything, even the new and bizzare!

It takes a team of 13 to create and produce this material. In order for that to continue, please think about purchasing your own subscription to ESL Expertz and encourage your colleagues to do the same. We appreciate your confidence and support!
