Calendar and Clock Game – Health & Fitness
Practice numbers, time and dates with your students while reviewing useful phrases to talk about health and fitness.
How to use this activity?
Students play individually. Display the activity and call out a number. Give your students some time to respond to the card in the chat.
- The opinion cards are only there to generate a quick discussion, so no points are awarded.
- The knowledge cards award 2 points to any student who correctly answers.
- The puzzle cards award 3 points to the first student to answer correctly.
Play until all the cards have been used. The student with the most points at the end wins.
For example:
Card 10 (opinion) – What season is the hardest to keep fit in? – “For me, winter is definitely the worst season to stay fit! We don’t want to work out or exercise outside because it’s cold and we eat a lot during the Holiday season!” (zero points awarded)
Card 11 (knowledge) – The first COVID-19 vaccine was administered in what month? – “In the UK, the first COVID-19 vaccine was administered in December 2020” (two points awarded)
Card 3 (puzzle) – George started the marathon at 9:05 AM. He finished with a personal record of 3 hours and 49 minutes. At what time did he finish? – “I think he finished at 11:54” (zero points awarded – he finished at 12:54)
