How to use this activity?

This activity is designed to use the present continuous for making plans in the future. Students can work individually, in pairs, or in groups.

First, ask each student to give you, in turn, an example of a verb until you have at least 10 verbs. Write these verbs in the chat. These words will make up your students’ word box for the activity.

Next, display the activity choose one of the story cards at the top of the page and introduce it to the class. Students must now create the arrangements for this person’s particular day. The sequence words are given, but make sure students write arrangements that typically involve other people, a time, or a place. Once students have written these, they will present them to the rest of the class. Vote on the best/funniest/most realistic/worst etc.
