Odd One Out: House & Home Vocabulary

Practice home and furniture vocabulary with this odd one out activity. Five words appear in each box. Which one doesn’t fit?

How to use this activity?

The activity is simple. Display the PDF or pass a copy of the activity to each group or pair. Each box has 5 words, one of which doesn’t fit. Students must find the odd one out and explain why. Do one box at a time, or all the boxes at once.

Example: Box #7

I think oven doesn’t fit because it is an appliance.

Hmmm… True, but I think bed doesn’t fit because the other things are found in a kitchen.
