Planning a Thanksgiving Dinner
Students use holiday-themed vocabulary to organize their very own Thanksgiving dinner together as a group.
How to use this activity?
- Put your students in small groups. Tell them they are going to plan an American Thanksgiving get-together for 12 people. They can plan their event by associating the words with the boxes. Every time they put a word in one of the boxes, they must do so by writing or speaking a full sentence or two.
- Do the same thing above but change the constraints – the worst Thanksgiving, the best Thanksgiving, the funniest Thanksgiving, etc.
- Play as a class – students take turns associating a word with a box by speaking or writing a sentence to justify their response. Other students can agree or disagree.
