Or use the virtual dominoes that come with the resource for your online classes… Forever! A hundred years!

Description

A domino-inspired basic English verbs activity you can use in class or online with groups or individuals.

Gramminos are domino-inspired games you can use to teach, review, and master various grammar points in English while getting your students to speak and stretch their language abilities. They are designed as a tool to be used regularly with your student as warm-ups, free practice, review, or those last 10 minutes of class you weren’t prepared for!

Target Language

Grammino: Coniditionals contains 136 conditional starters from all 4 conditionals (zero, first, second and third). There are both affirmative and negative examples. This Grammino activity allows your students to practice the construction of all conditionals while reviewing vocabulary. The resource comes with instructions for several different activities and variants which allows for flexible use of these gramminos.

Level

The level is completely dependent on what your particular group has or hasn’t learned!

Includes

  • a PDF with teacher instructions for all activities and variants along with 136 illustrated dominoes;
  • Powerpoint file that gives you another way to use this resource in class or online;
  • a folder with virtual dominoes that can be used with any interactive or online whiteboard software.

Please note: To use the Powerpoint file as intended, be sure to accept the use of macros when prompted by Powerpoint. This way, a random domino will be displayed on the screen each time.

Look out for more activities like this one. Today it’s conitionals, tomorrow it’s relative pronouns! Did you somehow forget how to play dominoes? Here’s a link to the rules, just in case. Do you also teach FLE? If so, here is a link to the original activity in French as Les Zexperts FLE

    This is a great game! I often worry when I use these resources that my students won’t get it, it will be too hard… And then I’m consistently surprised at how well the students respond!

I have been teaching English abroad since receiving my CELTA certificate in Poland in 2018. I enjoy tracking my individual students’ development but love having lessons with big groups! Now that I teach online, I am accompanied by my sidekicks Olaf, Mała, Pirate and Bandit on a regular basis.

It takes a team of 13 to create and produce this material. In order for that to continue, please think about purchasing your own subscription to ESL Expertz and encourage your colleagues to do the same. We appreciate your confidence and support!
