Animals Vocabulary Board Game

Use this animals vocabulary board game with pre-intermediate to advanced students to test their knowledge of basic animal vocabulary in English.

In this animals vocabulary board game, we have tried to condense some useful vocabulary related to animals into very small riddles which are relatively open-ended, allowing for multiple answers for each space on the board. It may look simple, but it is definitely not for your beginners! Try this with your intermediate to advanced students to test their English vocabulary.

Instructions

  1. Display the PDF for all to see and use your whiteboard tools to create game pieces for each player. If you are in the classroom, put students into small groups to play together.
  2. Students take turns rolling a die and advancing their piece that number of squares. To stay on the square, they must give an answer to the riddle. If more than one player lands on the same square during the game, they should give a different answer than the previous one(s).
  3. If a student is stumped, they return to their original square to try again on the next round.
  4. The first student to the FINISH wins.
