This week and last week we’ve been leaking sneak peeks of our upcoming Jukebox resources. There is a sneak peek for the Present Perfect Jukebox here and here, a sneak peek from the Jobs and Work Jukebox here, and another from the Shops and Shopping Jukebox right here.

This one comes from the Second Conditional Jukebox – a topic I hope will help many an ESL teacher. Again, let us know which of these 4 Jukeboxes you want to see first by sending us an email or writing in the comments 🙂

Now, keep in mind, this is still a prototype resource, and the final one will look even better (once it gets through the all-seeing eyes of our graphic designer).

How to use this resource:

Students work in pairs or small groups. For an online lesson, assign the pairs before beginning the activity. Display the activity. Students will make 10 assumptions (or as many as they can within a time limit) about their partner(s) by associating the images with the if statements, and therefore, all assumptions will be made in the second conditional. Once they are ready, students share their assumptions with their partner(s) in breakout rooms. For every correct assumption, students get 1 point. The pair with the most correct points between the two wins. Ask students to correct any incorrect assumptions!

I have been teaching English abroad since receiving my CELTA certificate in Poland in 2018. I enjoy tracking my individual students’ development but love having lessons with big groups! Now that I teach online, I am accompanied by my sidekicks Olaf, Mała, Pirate and Bandit on a regular basis.
