I’ve got a double sneak peek for you today. A sneak peek of something called a Juicebox and a new game coming to the shop sometime in the future. Or, if you’re reading this in the future… Then this was more like a beta test and you’ve already got the real thing somewhere on your hard drive just waiting for the right moment to whip out and use with your A1’s.
So what’s going on here?
For current readers, you’re looking at a future activity for a Juicebox. For future readers, you’re looking at version 1.0 of an activity that you would find in a Juicebox… This activity organises The Pronoun Game around the theme of shops and shopping for a quick activity that you can use with your A2s when practicing either pronouns or shops around town.
How does it work?
Display the activity on your screen for online lessons or project it in the classroom for offline lessons. Have a student read out loud one of the green or purple cards. Give students a time limit (around 60 seconds) to write in the chat, or on a piece of paper, as many replacements for the underlined pronoun as they can. Once time is up, have students share the results with the class. For every logical and original answer, students earn 1 point. Play all the cards and save the red one for last.
NOTE: The green cards are easier than purple cards.
This is the double jeopardy round. Have students bet the points they have accumulated throughout the game before they correct the sentence on the red card. Be sure to hide the writing on this card with something like a colored rectangle on zoom etc. before beginning the activity.
To go a little further, have your students make up their own riddles for the class. Play the same way as with the PDF.
