How to use Pronoun Practice – School and Education

Display the PDF to your online class and start with one of the green cards. Students try to replace the pronoun with a noun that fits both the theme and the actual pronoun e.g. them = plural; it = singular etc. Give them a time limit to come up with as many responses as possible. All of the cards have an obvious answer, but sometimes students come up with creative ones on their own.

  1. Green cards are the easiest riddles;
  2. Purple cards are utterances which usually use phrasal verbs;
  3. Red cards are meant to be unscrambled;
  4. Blue cards have students make their own riddle with the noun on the card.
