Quick and Easy No Prep ESL Discussion
What do you do when your “mini pig” turns out to be a 650 lb big boy?
CAUTION: There are some graphic images of slaughter houses in the video!
Today you and your students will learn the story of Esther the pig and her owners Steve and Derek. Steve came home with a tiny “mini pig” he got from Facebook. How cute! But then she got bigger… and bigger… and bigger… The story continues with a discussion about factory farming and what Steve and Derek have done about it.
If you like warmers (it’s basically my favorite part of the lesson), you could have your students play the memory game “in my suitcase” where they create a chain of words they must repeat in the right order. Farm animals??
Start by distributing the PDF to your students, and then watch the video below once or twice.
