Talk About Meals: My Food and Me!

Talk about meals with your A2 students with an easy printable PDF that walks you through a discussion about meals for 60 minutes.

Here is a printable PDF walling you through a 60-minute discussion with A2 students. Talk about meals with a series of questions in an aesthetic layout.

  • Print a copy for each student (or screen share it for online lessons).
  • Students prepare their responses at home or prepare them in class.
  • Then, talk about meals!

Easy, right? Yep, that’s it! Wanna add some vocabulary before or after? Use our Food Poster! I guess that would be best to look at before this activity…

Variant:

For the question about the ideal plate, you could ask your students to draw it, cut it out and redistribute the drawings at random to other students. Then, each student must:

  • describe the contents on the plate;
  • give the name of the dish or invent it (bonus points if it’s a traditional Polish dish);
  • guess which plate belongs to who and why (this could even be a pretty good ice breaker now that I think about it…)

I have been teaching English abroad since receiving my CELTA certificate in Poland in 2018. I enjoy tracking my individual students’ development but love having lessons with big groups! Now that I teach online, I am accompanied by my sidekicks Olaf, Mała, Pirate and Bandit on a regular basis.

It takes a team of 13 to create and produce this material. In order for that to continue, please think about purchasing your own subscription to ESL Expertz and encourage your colleagues to do the same. We appreciate your confidence and support!
