Let’s throw a bit of strategy into the mix, shall we? In this Irregular Verbs Online Board Game, your students will practice their irregular verbs while competing against each other on the board. The goal? Collect as much money as possible without getting stuck on the board.

Instructions
- Display the board, or print one out for each of your groups if offline.
- Use the whiteboard tools to create game pieces, or use whatever you’ve got if offline.
- Students start in the middle at “start here” and move from box to box, each with a different irregular verb.
- Come up with a rule* for when your students land on a box. If they are correct, check the box. Now, nobody can move to this box for the rest of the round. If incorrect, they stay where they are, but do not check the box. Other students can still move to this box.
- Students keep track of how much money they collect.
- The round ends when one of the students gets stuck and can not make a legal move. Note: the green boxes have no checkboxes and can therefore be used multiple times!
- Students count their total, the student with the most money wins! Play as many times as you’d like.
* Some examples for rules you might like to use:
- Give all three forms of the irregular verb;
- Write a sentence in the past simple/present perfect using this verb;
- Describe your weekend with this verb, or describe a day in the life of a celebrity.
- etc.
