Future Continuous Practice Activity – Zimasheet

A fun way to practice the future simple with your A1-A2 students while they get to know each other a bit. It can be used as a warm-up, review or discovery.

In general, this Zimasheet works like all the others – students will make assumptions about their partner inspired by the images and words presented on the PDF. While this one was designed as a future continuous practice activity, you could also use it to practice other

How to use this activity?

Use this future simple practice activity to practice the future simple with your A1-A2 students. It can be used as a warm-up, review or discovery.

  1. Put students into pairs.
  2. If working online, share the PDF or print a copy out for each of your pairs if in the classroom.
  3. Students will make 10 assumptions about their partner by associating the images with the time expressions we use when talking about the future.
  4. Give your students a time limit to write down their ten assumptions. Then, students share their assumptions with their partner and earn one point for each correct assumption.
  5. Once everyone is finished, pairs can share with the class the assumptions they got correct about their partners.

To add to the challenge, you can have your students write questions instead of sentences. Also, think about asking your students to mix it up a bit by using the different structures for talking about the future e.g. present continuous, going to, will, might, etc.

You’re going to walk your dog right after class.

You will work in the garden this weekend.

You’re moving to a new city this weekend.

etc.
