This 90-minute lesson plan allows your A2 students to discover or review the senses while they describe tastes and textures (and a few smells). Inside you will find a warm up activity, 2 listening comprehension activities, 3 vocabulary exercises, a functional language review and finally a speaking activity for your students to complete in pairs or groups. There is also a short homework assignment. This is a classic A2 topic that you can’t skip, and every textbook has some boring or embarrassing way to do it. This lesson plans teaches students to describe tastes and textures in English via an interesting topic without infantilizing adults. It goes a bit deeper than normal, giving yours students 3 strategies to describe food, making it useful for B1 students as well.

The video takes a look at the science behind the Impossible Burger from Impossible Foods. Check out the video here.

This was a great resource! I paired it up with Ratatouille’s scene, where Remy explains what he perceives when eating cheese and a strawberry. They loved it! Thank you!
